Tokyo Motor Show- VW Cross Coupe

Powering the Cross Coupé is a petrol-electric hybrid system capable of providing drive to either the front wheels or all four wheels via a seven-speed double clutch gearbox, depending on the driving conditions. It combines Volkswagen’s familiar turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder direct injection TSI petrol engine producing 148bhp and 155lb ft of torque with a pair of brushless electric motors.





Revealed- 5 door Audi A1

Audi has unveiled the promised five-door version of its A1 supermini, and plans to have it in UK showrooms early in 2012. At launch, the Sportback will be offered with the same four-level engine with which the three-door began with. The entry-level Sportback 1.2 SE five-door costs £13,980.



RWD Gallardo Spyder

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder uses much the same technology as the Balboni. Acceleration from 0-62mph is 4.9secs and the top speed is 198mph. It will cost £158,797.60 when it comes out in Spring 2012

  

LA Motor Show- Ford Flex

Ford US’s seven-seat, three-row Flex crossover is also the world’s first production car to get inflatable, airbag, rear seat belts. There are two 3.5-litre V6 engines: 285bhp and a 355bhp Ecoboost, both connected to a six-speed Selectshift transmission that offers manual or automatic operation.



LA Motor Show- Camaro ZL1 Convertible

The 2013 model year Camaro ZL1 Convertible is fast – its supercharged 6.2-litre V8 puts out a peak 572bhp and 556lb ft of torque, beating the of the Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible. Performance figures haven't been released yet, the Coupe version of the Camaro ZL1 cover 0-60mph in 3.9sec and has a top speed of 184mph. The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible will be available in the US in the summer of next year. Pricing has yet to be announced.



LA Motor Show- Fiat 500 Abarth US Version

 The 500 Abarth has a turbocharged, twin-intercooled 1.4-litre MultiAir engine that delivers about 158bhp at 5500rpm and 170lb ft at 2500-4000rpm and is connected to a five-speed manual transmission. Exterior styling includes a rear splitter and new nose section.

LA Motor Show- Ford Kuga

The new SUV’s styling closely follows the European-designed Vertrek concept unveiled in Detroit at the beginning of the year. Although a new Mondeo is due next year, the Kuga will probably be Ford’s most important launch of 2012. It replaces the Escape in the US.

LA Motor Show- Jaguar XKR-S Convertible

The new Jaguar XKR-S convertible is being said as the most powerful and fastest open-topped GT model that the company has ever built. The Jaguar XKR-S convertible makes its public debut at the LA Motor Show. It joins the XKR-S at the top of the range.  It can hit 62mph in just 4.2sec and has a limited top speed of 186mph. Jaguar predicts the price will be around £103,000.

LA Motor Show- 2013 Mustang GT500

The figures of 650bhp and 600lb ft from the 5.8-litre supercharged unit make it the most powerful production V8 engine on the planet. The clutch, transmission and axle have all been upgraded and the Ford Shelby GT500 also gets a new carbonfibre driveshaft, cross-drilled block and heads and updated camshaft profiles. Other tweaks include a new downforce-generating front grille, a redesigned splitter that is designed to make the car feel more planted at speeds of 160mph-plus and a new quad exhaust system. Its top speed is around 200mph. The price of the new Ford Shelby GT500 hasn’t been set, although the current version is available on import to the UK for between £40-50,000.

Revealed- Mercedes ML63 AMG

This is the new, 518bhp Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, which will go on sale in the UK next spring after its world debut at this week's Los Angeles motor show. It is powered by AMG's new twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 engine. Compared with its predecessor's normally aspirated 6.2-litre V8, the 5.5 brings a gain of 15bhp and a 51lb ft hike in torque to 516lb ft, delivered from just 1750rpm.  Economy and CO2 emissions are 23.9mpg and 276g/km.

Revealed- Next Mercedes S Class

The next S-Class will be even safer than before. With up to five cutting-edge new safety systems, including a ‘Braking Bag’ that bursts under the front axle. There are also strong indications that the four-wheel-drive 4Matic model will at last become available in the UK.

There will be five models in the range: a four-door saloon, two extended-wheelbase cars, a short-wheelbase coupé and, for the first time, a soft-top convertible. Further up the range will be an S500 V8 petrol and an S600 V12, revised to pass 2015’s EU6 regulations. At the top will be successors to the V8-powered S63 and twin-turbo V12 S65 AMG.

Citroen DS range to expand

The Citroen DS range will grow to include six different models, including a luxury flagship for China and, potentially, a city car to rival the Fiat 500. Not all will make it to Europe. Citroën will also be using its Citroën Racing performance division in the future.

Reviewed- Ridge Racer 3D

The Ridge Racer series has been brought to the 3DS and this has resulted... Ridge Racer 3D. The game is good in carrer mode you start of with Class 4 and then move up to Classes 3,2 and finally the top class, Class 1. On some of the longer 3 lap races your thumbs start to hurt but the graphics are good with the 3D mode on. after a while, this can get boring though, so yu can race against your friends (who have the game) using Streetpass (a 3DS feature). Though in multiplayer mode you both have to have the same car but of course you can change the paintjob. To conclude...
VERDICT- Good game but sometimes can be boring

Reviewed- Asphalt 3D

Asphalt 3D is a 3D driving experience. Progress gets you more cars to buy and win more championships. Choose from Cash Attack- where the objective is to get a certain amount of money before the laps are up. Race- as its name suggest is a 3 lap race against 7 other CPU players. There are more but we don't have time for them. Some of the parts are quite tough to get past later on, so i'll warn you now.
VERDICT-Aspahlt is a good series made even better by brining it into the 3D world

Reviewed- Forza Motorsport 4

The moment you start Forza 4 you know it is going to be a good game. The moment you enter a race you get the same excitement of driving a real car. Forza 4 has lots of Top Gear content including the test tracke the Kia cee'd, the Chevy Lacetti and for the Top Gear USA fans, a Suzuki SX4 sportback. The graphics are realalistic and the noises are too. Take your pick from over 500 cars and more with added content DLC packages that will be released every month until April 2012. The autovista feature has Jeremy Clarkson and lots of interactive parts and over 15 cars. You get 2 extra cars for completing the autovista.
VERDICT- One of the best driving games around

Facelifted- VW Passat CC

The new VW Passat will be revealed later this month at the LA motor show. A choice of petrol engines will be offered in the VW, producing 158bhp, 208bhp and 295bhp. The first two will have an option of a dual clutch gearbox. The diesel options include 138 and 168hp engines. The first will do 61mpg and 53 with the DSG gearbox. The car will go on sale in Germany in January and the rest of the world a few months later.

Revealed- Astra VXR

Vauxhall will launch the new 277bhp Astra VXR next year. It has a 2 litre engine and a mechanical limited slip differential that will cut wheelspin and they have also used a seperate knuckle joint to not completely but minimise the torque steer that Ford and Renault's have had in the past. It will be on sale next year with an uncomfirmed price.

Spied- Mercedes SLS Black Series

Mercedes is working on a hardcore 208mph Black Series version of its SLS AMG supercar. It will go on sale in 2013, costing around 50 per cent more than the £168,395 coupe. It will have a 0-62mph time of 3.5sec and a top speed of 208mph. Power of around 600bhp and 500lb ft is expected in the Black Series

Facelifted- The new Audi A4

The front of the new A4 is slightly altered to make it look like the A5 and A6. New engines include a 1.8 170bhp 4cyl TFSI. also in the engine line-up is the base 1.8 four cinder unit with 118bhp. The 2.0 four cinder TDI engine comes with 118bhp, 134bhp, 141bhp, 161bhp and 175bhp options. Prices have gone up between £100 and £1400.

New Peugeot 208 launched

Peugeot has revealed this... The new 208. It has been said that Peugeot want it to resemble the 205 from years ago. In it's lightest form at 975kg it is 173kg lighter than the 207. The most efficent of the 208 range will do 65.7mpg and co2 levels of 99 g/km. Power is suspected to be around 75 to 100hp. The car will go on sale in the UK in summer 2012 in 3 and 5 door variants and a 208GTI will follow towards the end of 2012.
